Allied Counties Youth League Premier Division

Harefield United U/18 1 Thatcham Town U/18 3

The Hares started brightly and took an early lead with a finely worked goal that Lorenzo Scelsi converted.
The lead lasted till our visitor’s equalised on the stroke of half time with some sloppy defensive play.
The second half saw a completely different match as our visitors took control of the game and scored a further 2 goals and it was only a man of the match performance by Matt Faley in goal that stopped the Hares being on the wrong end of a bad result.

Farnborough Town U/18 3 Harefield United U/18 1

A fantastic first half performance had title hopefuls Farnborough on the rack, poor defending allowed our hosts to open the scoring but the hares battled back with probably our goal of the season, which saw numerous, passes from our penalty box with a great finish by Richmond Agyeman level the scores.
The second half started off with disaster as Farnborough scored 2 goals inside the first 4 minutes, unfortunately this killed off the lads who let their heads go down, the result was just as disappointing as the hosts never really created any further chances and we should have got ourselves back into the match but lacked the spirit to do so.

Chalfont St Peter U/18 1 Harefield United U/18 3

A battling performance on a cow field of a pitch saw the young hares gain 3 valuable points against one of the teams at the wrong end of the table.
Nathan Motley opened the scoring form a corner and the hares looked in total control.
But the last 15 minutes of the half saw the Hares lose concentration and the hosts scored 2 goals to take a half time lead.
The second half was all Harefield and we deservedly equalised with a goal from Jake Morten, Richmond Agyeman sealed the points with a spectacular overhead kick that saw the hares move up the table.
A deserved victory with a good all round performance.

The U9s went one better and beat Bedfont Eagles 6-0 with goals from Alex Balliheimer (2), Thomas MacCalman (3), and an own goal, leaving the U10s losing against Beaconsfield SYCOB 4-1. Mini Soccer

Only two games were on at the weekend with the U10s winning 4-1 against Upton Youth, a hat-trick from L Quinn (3) and the other C Murray. But the U9s lost 2-1 to Chalfont Saints Cobra with the only goal from Thomas MacCalman.
However, better luck for the U12s with a cup win.Harefield started the better and come close on several occasions until Jake Dark carried the ball into the Taplow penalty area and shot past the keeper to put Harefield 1-0 up. Taplow never really tested the Harefield defence in the first half. As the pitch got worse the second half saw Harefield come close again and Taplow had a chance cleared off the line by Jordon Reid in the Harefield defence but the one goal turned out to be enough and Harefield progressed into the league cup semi finals. Man of the match was Christian Quinn.

The young Hares continued their improved form to gain another valuable 3 points.
On a very cold night and a rapidly freezing pitch the Hares dug in and scored 2 quick goals, the first from Lorenzo Scelsi his 3rd in 2 games finishing off a fine move, the second from Richmond Agyeman from a well worked free kick with David Fletcher providing the opportunity. Other opportunities to score were unfortunately not taken but the Hares looked comfortable and deserved their win, Another fine display from Jake Morten in midfield and Sam Bellis in goal helped maintain a good start to the New Year.
Next week we entertain Thatcham Town in the League.

Wednesday 24th January 2007

At last we managed to play a fixture after the recent poor weather had disrupted the fixture programme. The hard work in getting the pitch playable paid dividends as the young Hares stormed into a 3-0 lead within 25 minutes. Lorenzo Scelsi making his 1st start for the club started the goal rush with a delightful lob over the keepers head from just outside the penalty area, his second came from the penalty spot after Leo Whiting was crudely felled by the visitors keeper, Kieran Peters wrapped up the scoring from close range after the keeper only parried a David Fletcher shot into his path. The Hares carried on to dominate the half and should have lengthened their lead further but missed a string of chances. The second half saw the visitors trying to gain some momentum but the defence held strong with Jon Wiggins as centre back having a particularly solid game, in midfield Jake Morten was having a fine match and was unlucky not to score his first goal for the club, up front Leo Whiting and Kieran Peters worked tirelessly. The result lifts the Hares to mid table but there is still a lot of hard work to be done but there is a lot of talent in this squad hopefully this result could kick start our season.

The season is back in full swing with all the teams playing Sunday, with mixed results. The U7s beat Taplow United 7-0, the goals from Alex Gilbert(2), Matthew Oliver (3), William Sheperd, Bryn Jones. The U8s went down 1-0 against new Windsor Ospreys A, a vast improvement on last year's fixture. This left the U9s to win 5-0 against New Windsor Ravens Blacks with goals from Erik von Hafenbradl, 2 from Alex Ballheimer, one from Joe Hammond and the other an own goal. Finally, the U10s drew with Slough Juniors 2-2 with L Quinn scoring both for Harefield.

Latest News

No fewer than four of our under 18 squad travelled the Middlesex County U/16 Representative side to play against Surrey County FC on Sunday.

Jake Morton, Richmond Agyeman, Dean Blower and Richard Lavender were all selected to play.

On the County U/18 front we have Arian Maleknia, Matt Faley, Leon Smart, Leo Whiting & David Fletcher all having been selected to play which shows we have a lot of talent in the future coming along to represent the club.

Well done to all those who have represented your county keep up the good work.

Sam Bellis and Matt Faley have both been deputising in goal for the reserves whilst regular keeper Mark Oliver recovered from a broken rib, reports from Manager Andy Barrance reveal the lads have been excellent and not let the club down so well done to you both.

David Fletcher has been playing his part in the reserves of late progressing from our U/18s and there are a couple of other boys that will hopefully be pushed through to the reserves soon, as we continue to develop the boys ready for the step up into senior football.

Our recent good win in the League at Chesham was a distant memory as we crashed out of the Middlesex County Cup at Home to Hanwell Town, as holders we were keen to have another good run in the competition but on the night we did not perform and were deservedly shown the exit door, our aim this season is to try and maintain our Premier League status and if we can string a couple of results together we are confident this squad can achieve our aim.
